DeskBuddy Browser Companion Privacy Policy

DeskBuddy is a free MVP Chrome extension that shows animated companions and optional effects on supported browser pages. The extension needs website access so your selected companion can appear on supported pages.

What DeskBuddy Stores

DeskBuddy stores only the settings needed to run the companion: selected character, size, position, movement mode, effect settings, audio settings, favorites, recent characters, and per-site preferences.

What DeskBuddy Does Not Collect

Page text.
Passwords.
Form input.
Sensitive website content.
Keystrokes.
Unnecessary browsing history.

Analytics

MVP analytics are limited to product events such as install, character activation, favorite added, effect enabled, audio enabled, companion paused, and dashboard opened. Analytics must not include page content, passwords, form input, or sensitive data.

User Controls

Users can pause DeskBuddy globally, disable it per site, reduce motion, keep audio off, and mute audio by site. DeskBuddy has no accounts and no sign-up: your companion, favorites, and settings are stored in your own browser, and clearing your browser data removes them.
